Sharing our Abundance with Those in Need

Des Moines Pagan Pride is proud to introduce our Charitable Partners for Pagan Pride Day 2008, Children and Families of Iowa, and Animal Lifeline of Iowa.

"Children & Families of Iowa is a private, nonprofit human services organization dedicated to helping strengthen Iowa's children and families. We offer a broad range of programs and services to support the growth and well-being of children, adults and families.

Our Mission
Children & Families of Iowa is restoring hope, building futures and changing lives.

A History of Helping
CFI has been helping Iowa’s most vulnerable families since 1888, when a group of concerned citizens founded CFI to find safe, loving homes for Iowa’s orphaned children. Since then, CFI has grown into the nationally-accredited, locally-respected organization it is today.

By responding to the needs of our communities we have developed one of Iowa’s most efficient and effective systems of care for at-risk families, individuals and children. Last year we reached over 17,000 people in 96 of Iowa's 99 counties through our broad range of programs and services.

Partnerships and Accreditations
Children and Families of Iowa is a member organization of United Way and is a charter member of the Children's Home Society of America. CFI is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services."*

"Animal Lifeline of Iowa, Inc. is a no-kill special needs animal shelter that accepts unowned dogs and cats who are sick, injured, pregnant, nursing, orphaned or handicapped. Animal Lifeline (ALI) is supported solely by donations.
ALI is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization"

ALI is a "No kill" shelter

ALI does not kill animals simply because they have not been placed within a certain length of time. We keep the animals until we are able to find homes for them and some of have waited as long as two years or more to find homes to call their own. Every attempt is made to provide as much of a home-like environment as is possible, in our shelter.
