"Children & Families of Iowa is a private, nonprofit human services organization dedicated to helping strengthen
Iowa's children and families. We offer a broad range of programs and services to support the growth and well-being of children,
adults and families.
Our Mission Children & Families of Iowa is restoring hope, building futures and
changing lives.
A History of HelpingCFI has been helping Iowa’s most vulnerable families since 1888,
when a group of concerned citizens founded CFI to find safe, loving homes for Iowa’s orphaned children. Since then,
CFI has grown into the nationally-accredited, locally-respected organization it is today.
By responding to the needs
of our communities we have developed one of Iowa’s most efficient and effective systems of care for at-risk families,
individuals and children. Last year we reached over 17,000 people in 96 of Iowa's 99 counties through our broad range of programs
and services.
Partnerships and AccreditationsChildren and Families of Iowa is a member organization of
United Way and is a charter member of the
Children's Home Society of America. CFI is accredited by the
Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services."*
